The two things Uganda does better than anywhere else are mountain gorillas and the Kazinga Channel. They sit at opposite ends of a long murram road, which is why most short itineraries make you pick one.
Flying removes the choice. You trek from Bwindi's southern sectors, fly north to the Mweya peninsula, and spend two full days on game drives and the boat without a transfer day in between.

The 5 days
- Day 1
Fly Entebbe to Kisoro
A morning flight of about 1 hour 15 to Kisoro airstrip, then an hour and a half to Rushaga. Afternoon at the lodge on the forest edge.
- Day 2
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
Briefing at 07:00, your trek, and the afternoon free. Lake Mutanda by canoe if you have the energy.
- Day 3
Fly to Mweya
A short flight north over the Ishasha plains to the Mweya airstrip in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel — hippo, buffalo, elephant and an extraordinary density of waterbirds.
- Day 4
Kasenyi plains and the crater drive
A dawn game drive for lion and elephant, the explosion-crater route in the afternoon, and sundowners over the Rift Valley escarpment.
- Day 5
Fly Mweya to Entebbe
A last morning drive, then the flight back to Entebbe for an international connection.

What if a flight is cancelled?
