WRITING FROM OUR GUIDES

Field notes

the things that don't fit on a tour page

Not a content-marketing blog. Four pieces about things we get asked in vehicles and at dinner, written by people who do this every week.

Planning guides

If you want instructions rather than reflections, the travel guides cover permits, seasons, fitness and packing, and travel advice covers visas, health, money and safety.

Why we write these

Tour pages have a job to do, and it makes them flat. The questions people actually ask — is one hour enough, will I keep up, is it worth going in the rain, why did you put us in Ruhija — deserve a longer answer than a bullet point, and they are more useful written down than repeated in a vehicle for the four hundredth time.

Everything here is written by guides and trip planners who work these forests weekly. If something is wrong or has changed, we would rather you told us than quietly noticed.
